Smoke Your Way to the Center of Your Universe

Most people aspire to be good humans but there are those who fall short. For a while now, there’s been a stigma around smokers and their capabilities to carry out certain tasks.

Being religious doesn’t make you a good person just like how owning cool glass pipes doesn’t make you a bad person. If you're wondering how to be a good person, you should know that there aren’t any rules or regulations.

There are, however, some general elements that most "good" people possess. If you display the following behaviors and traits, whether you smoke or not, you're probably a pretty decent person.

See Yourself for Who You Are

The way to becoming a better person is first realizing that you have flaws and that's what makes you human. Good people know that they're not perfect, but they strive to be the best version of themselves.

Maybe you avoid conflict and that can lead up to pent-up resentment. Maybe you lack patience or hold grudges and find it hard to forgive, even after the other person has apologized.

You need to take some time and calm your thoughts so you can find out who you are. When you see yourself in that light and acknowledge it, it becomes easier to be a good person.

Forgive and Let Go of Anger

If you want to know how to become a better person inside and out, you need to let go of your anger.

Forgiveness can be difficult, even for the best humans, but it means allowing the person who wronged you to make amends and rebuild a relationship with you.

Being a good person means understanding that sometimes people will fall short of your expectations and offend you, and that’s okay.

Forgiving others and letting go of your anger will allow you to move on from past hurts and rebuild important relationships.

Accept Responsibility

Take ownership of your behavior and the consequences of that behavior. All humans make mistakes and sometimes make poor choices that they later regret.

In some cases, we look the other way, turning a blind eye instead of taking action.

Blaming others and failing to accept responsibility for your actions or inaction is not a trait associated with good people.

Just as good people forgive others for their transgressions, they are also able to ask for forgiveness when necessary.

Admit when you are wrong and apologize if you truly want to be a good person.

Be Polite

Being polite is a major part of knowing how to be good. Practice gratitude by thanking people who do favors for you.

This means thanking people for gifts, acts of service, and thoughtfulness. Be polite to everyone you meet, regardless of their station in life.

Avoid asking overly personal questions about people's religion, relationship status, or income. Help people to feel welcome in your presence and don't touch people without permission.

Politeness not only makes people feel good about you when you're around, but it also helps you to feel as though you are a genuinely good person.

Be a Good Listener

If you want to know how to be a good person, you have to know how to be a good listener. Active listening means hearing what the other person is saying and seeking to understand.

Keep an open mind, face the speaker and try to picture what they're saying in your mind. Avoid interrupting or trying to come up with your own interpretations of their message.

Offer advice or solutions only if they ask, and try not to turn the conversation to yourself.

Set Goals for Yourself

Setting goals can help you to improve yourself and become a better person. Set goals to reach out to friends and family more often, become a better listener, or make amends with people you have wronged.

You can also set goals to spend time performing volunteer work, donating to charity, or calling elderly relatives.

Being a better person takes deliberate effort, and by setting goals, you will be more likely to become a better person.

Live With Integrity

Living with integrity means doing the right thing when nobody is watching. Live in a way that is consistent with your values.

Stand up for what you believe in, do what is right, and don't bend on your principles. Living with integrity means making your actions reflect your inner thoughts and feelings.

Make sound decisions and stay committed to your purpose, while at the same time keeping an open mind and being tolerant of others’ beliefs.

Recognize Opportunities to Grow and Change

There is always room for growth and change. As you go through life, you may change your viewpoints on certain ideas and start to see life from a different perspective.

This is normal and healthy. Being a good person means being able to change with the times, embrace new ideas and challenge your old beliefs.

If you are wondering how to be a good person, chances are you're already halfway there.

By being part of the community, practicing empathy, living with integrity, and embracing the journey, you will be a productive person and an overall good human.

Being a good person requires work and you should reward yourself for all the good actions you take. Whenever you realize that you’ve grown or changed a habit that was bad, treat yourself to something nice.

Places like Atomic Blaze offer smoking gift bundles that you can treat yourself with for being a good person. It doesn’t matter if you get glow in the dark pipes or all the essential smoking accessories, you just need to follow the above tips and you’ll feel like a good person in no time.
